DIMLA meeting centre “Association of ex-leprosy patients and people with disability”

This ECO-Home Solution initiative makes an exceptional contribution to the local community in 3 areas:

1. Integration centre for ex-leprosy patients and people with physical disabilities.
(In collaboration with the Danish Bangladesh Leprosy Mission DBLM)

The 400 members of the association have been trained to take their destiny into their own hands, to fight for their rights, for their integration, to fight against any form of discrimination they face!

At present, they meet in this corrugated iron hut, which obviously does not promote their social integration.
2. 100% Ecological construction.

The consequences of "Climate change" are very much felt in Bangladesh and we are happy that this center is being built with our ECO bricks, made of earth, sand and (a minimum of) cement. The best ecological alternative to bricks in Bangladesh.

Tons of CO2 emissions are avoided, this center is an example of "how things can be done differently".

3. Innovative architecture

In Bangladesh people are building on their own, without a building permit and certainly without an architect. As a result, most houses are aesthetically and functionally ill-conceived, and the ubiquitous enclosure wall discourages contact. EHS called on the architect couple Fawzia (lecturer in architecture at the renowned university BUET) and Saleh (BUET Architect). They designed this inviting, fresh, open design that will positively guide the integration of ex-leprosy patients and people with disabilities! The building will attract attention and the open structure invites you to visit and get acquainted!
